welcome trader joes.
You know you are independent from your parents when discount health food gets you excited. Rumors of Traders Joes opening in Portland teased us Vaction Landers for a couple years. Now that it has finally arrived i just cant get enough. I would not encourage buying all of your grocerys at Traders but there are somethings that you just cant deny its price and tastyness.
Things to try out at Trader Joes (all under $4.00):
tomato less salsa and traditional salsa
mandarin orange chicken
hansens tangerine lime soda
dumplings
2 buck chuck
crab cakes
chow mein
chili lime nut mix
terriyaki barbeque chicken
lemon, raspberry and chocolate sorbet
original hummus
fage yougurt
Regardless to your diet Trader Joe’s provides consumers with decent kitchen filler for those nights that cooking is just out of the question. The asian dishes are cheaper than take out and there’s no msg! So get your produce and fresh meat from Whole Foods..bread from Big Sky and let Trader Joes do the rest.

30 day project revisted
To kick of junior year as a printmaking junior @ Maine College of Art, professor E. Jabar gave us a task, the “30 day project”. This project forced us to look at our studio practice and simply make something everyday. The goal was to develop some sort of routine so regardless to what it was we were working on.We were producing. The works created from this 30 day span were exhibited on the first floor in what is now the admissions office, in the Porteous Building. This project is what sparked my interest in teeshirts and i was crankin’ super production mode.
Inspired and slightly forced by Ed, I have decided to once again take a 30 day pledge. I will post blog entries everyday for 30 days.
